West St. Petersburg Community Library @ SPC June 2012 Press Release

Adult Programs
*Computer Classes:
Supervised Lab Time every Friday 1:30pm – 3:30pm. Come and get help with all of your computer issues. Beginners and advanced users welcome.
Thursday, June 7th at 1pm – Helpful Android Applications – Learn about useful software applications for your android smart phone. Registration is required. 727-341-7183.
Thursday, June 14th at 12:30pm – Internet Basics – Come and learn to use the internet from the beginning steps. Registration Required 727-341-7183.
Thursday, June 21st at 12:30pm – Microsoft Word Basics – Learn basic word processing. Registration is Required - 727-341-7183.
Thursday, June 28th at 12:30pm –Excel Basics. Learn the basics of Microsoft Excel. Registration is Required - 727-341-7183.

*Tai Chi demonstration and workshop
Saturday June 30th at 10:30
Tai Chi is learned by doing. The beginner class format is quite simple. You do not have to be in great physical shape to start learning - people of all ages and conditions can learn. The moves can be performed in any comfortable clothing. It is recommended that you wear shoes that offer good support and balance, like comfortable walking shoes or sneakers.

We will be discussing Curse the River of Time By Per Petterson. All are welcome to attend.

*St. Petersburg Writer’s Club
1st & 3rd Thursdays 6:30pm Library Multipurpose Room
Anyone interested in writing is invited to attend.

There will be no storytime during this period as we prepare for our summer reading program

*Juneteenth Celebration
Tuesday, June 19th 3:30pm
Learn about Juneteenth and its meaning with presenter Faye Dowdell. Make an African drum! Prizes and fun for kids.

*Florida Library Youth Program Story Time and Special Programs
Wednesdays, at 2:30pm June 12th, 19th & 26th
A special story time in conjunction with our kids’ summer reading program. This year’s theme is Dream Big, READ! Discover Dewey.
Elementary age children welcome.

*Preschool Jams
Every Tuesday 10:30am Songs, puppets, fingerplays and stories for ages 3-5.

*Toddler Tunes
Every Tuesday 9:30am Songs, puppets, fingerplays and stories for ages 0-3.
